(2024). Vermiglio is nothing grand when it comes to its narrative and themes, but Maura Delpero’s cinematography, sound design and beautiful, ambitious direction show the dedication and mastery of what she is capable of offering.
Delpero undoubtedly has some talent, because his approach reminds me of the neorealism of old Italian cinema
The country’s exploration of themes of relationships and individuals, the beautiful cinematography, strong performances and approach to the nature of the setting create an interesting atmosphere and an empathetic approach to observing the characters and the situations that occur around them. It is impeccable, because due to the familiar themes and narrative, I was not able to understand the characters closely or feel connected to any of them.
But there is no doubt that Delpero has a lot of talent
Including the pacing, which is not always there and some of the dialogue is a bit questionable.
